Seas0nPass 0.9.2 (beta) w/ iFaith Signatures

Today we have a hot and fresh new beta version of Seas0nPass for your testing pleasure.

What’s new in version 0.9.2?

  1. Added ability to extract iFaith signatures from an ATV2.
  2. Added ability to use those extracted signatures to restore an ATV2.

What are iFaith signatures?

iFaith signatures are useful since they are based on whatever version the Apple TV is CURRENTLY running, allowing you to re-install or jailbreak that version even if it is no longer being signed.

Saving iFaith firmware signatures (Mac)

  1. Connect Apple TV via USB
  2. Launch Seas0nPass
  3. Click the 'Help' menu and select the 'Dump iFaith Device blob...' item.
  4. Follow the prompts provided by Seas0nPass

  1. Connect Apple TV via USB

  3. Right-click the 'Create IPSW' button and and select the 'Save firmware signatures...' item.
  4. Follow the prompts provided by Seas0nPass

Restoring with iFaith (or other) saved signatures

  1. Connect Apple TV via USB
  2. Launch Seas0nPass
  3. Right-click the 'Create IPSW' button and select your desired version.
  4. Seas0nPass will handle fetching saved signatures and restoring the firmware automatically.

The 0.9.3 release version now supports blob extraction.

Download the latest version here: http://support.firecore.com/entries/387605

does it mean untethered JB coming soon for 5.2.1?

Trying it now with my 5.0.2 ATV2…

Let you know how it goes

It worked like a charm for me.

Thanks a lot!

Much better than the borrow a pc/iFaith/Sn0wbreeze method

Awesome! B-)

Thanks for following up.

Any chance of testing this on Windows? What is the ETA for the 0.9.2 beta Windows build?

Wonderful news, except I can never get iFaith to save my blobs. Always get error below:

The Windows version will likely be ready next week.

Hmm. Not sure what’s going on there, but your best option may be to wait for the new version of Seas0nPass for Windows.

where is the link to download this season pass beta thx

Bottom of the first post by James…

question,

where can i find the saved firmware that seasonpass created.

i get only when the creating firmware is done …script failed error

it doesnt matter anymore.

it worked like a charm !!!

many thanks bro

Hi James et al,

The new Beta worked perfectly, first time; I’d been struggling, but I think the downgrade to 5.2.1 did the trick!

Cheers,

M.

You must try, and try, and try, and try… until the whole sequence runs AUTOMATICALLY till the end…

I succeded after several hours and i think i tried almost a hundred of times.

Finally the iFaith gave me the blobs!!!

Alternatively you can wait for the seasonpass windows version… maybe it could works at the first time.

Now, that’s Magic!

Thanks ultrapop. I will try a few more time using iFaith. Seasonpass probably will not work for me because this particular ATV2 I have is still on 4.0 (virgin). The newer seasonpass starts with 4.2.1 or 4.1? Anyway I bought it from an auction site, the previous owner probably never used it or just never bother to update it. I have other ATV2s jailbroken, so this is more like a learning unit for me. :P

I unfortunately updated to 5.2.1 and do not have any blobs saved.

Can anyone please tell me how to downgrade? I know that iClarified has a whole list of ipsw.

Can Seas0npass 0.9.2 downgade the firmware for me if i downloaded an ipsw from iClarified?

Can someone please give me step by step instructions on it? Very badly want to downgrade. Any assistance will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

If you have no saved blobs then you cannot downgrade.

Worked like a dream on 3 x atv today - 4.4.4/ 5.0.2 and 5.2

Thanks James/Firecore

Its a miracle…lol

Graham

If this is currently for Mac only.
How would I use iFaith (PC) only.
iFaith Blobs.
I’m just looking for clarity.
Thanks
Jim

Interesting and frustrating as heck on how iFaith signatures are extractable with an OSX platform tool like this and the author of iFaith can’t seem to get his crap together to produce an OSX version of his tool.

I’m not dissin anyone, just frustrated after spending tens of hours using iFaith on windoze to finally have iFaith puke up blobs.

Good work here folks, glad to see progress on this. I’ll give it a go on my newer ATV when you’re out of beta.

Cheers,

Skydog
